We have a special place in our hearts for mother-daughter stories. I created Sole Sisters after witnessing how a pair of red heels brought my mom relief from cancer. We want to share this sweet shoe story from Carole about her mother.
“My mother lived in San Diego. As an adult I live in Dallas. When my parents would visit me here in the 1980’s and 1990’s my mother would immediately head to the old Vantage Shoe Warehouse on Wycliff Street. She never left with less than 10-15 pairs of shoes. She didn’t need them, she just loved pretty shoes and she wanted them. When my father died in 2006, my mother moved to Dallas to be close to my family. By that time, she was not able to wear most of the pretty shoes, but she still owned them and they were in good shape. Her treasures came with her to Dallas. I didn’t tell you that my mother and I had the same shoe size. When my mother passed in 2010, her shoe collection made its way to my closet. To this day, I wear many of her favorite shoes and continue to get compliments on them, thanks to my mothers stylish taste.”
It’s not too late. Share your story today for your chance to be in our film.
