We spent a lovely evening with our fellow Sole Sisters at the Women in Film.Dallas ice cream social last night. WIF.D featured Belinda Baldwin, a Dallas-based advertising expert, and we were lucky enough to hear her speak on the power of images within social media. The same talk she just so happened to give on TEDxSMU. So you know she’s one smart lady!
The event was held at Monster Yogurt, so we ate plenty of froyo, talked about our ongoing projects, and met some fabulous ladies. In between learning about social media, going gaga over all the different toppings for our yogurt, and meeting some new Sole Sisters, we snapped some photos of our favorite shoes.
The theme of the evening seemed to be black patent leather. Guess that’s what you get with a room full of class Sole Sisters!
Winner: Best Pedicure
Yes, her flower-embellished flip-flops are super cute, but it’s that fierce bright orange pedicure that made us go straight for her shoes.
(And yes, we are constantly looking at people’s feet and parties…
And yes, we realize how strange that must make us look. But we’ve accepted it.)
Winner: Best Flats
There are no simple shoes. Just simple outfits. We love these simple, adorable flats, especially paired with a pair of cute, rolled-up skinny jeans. You just can’t beat a classic combo.
Winner: Best Wedges
The lady who rocked these shoes was a gorgeous, tall blonde, PROVING that tall Sole Sisters can wear heels. Especially cute ones.
Winner: Best Office-to-Evening
Growing up, we always heard that patent leather is too flashy for the office however these pumps make it work. With a cute rounded toe, they’re demure enough for the office but definitely stylish enough for any Sole Sister to sport after work.
Winner: Best in Show
These were our favorite shoes of the evening. Anything Hunger Games inspired we’re all for, and paired with a wine-red colored pedicure-it’s a match made in shoe heaven.
