The Original Sole Sisters

I was rooting through old albums looking for some pictures for a very dear friends birthday party. I found this picture of me and my sister sitting in on my Grandmother’s swing. Obviously, we were the most glamorous kids in the neighborhood. I emailed this to my sister and her comment was : ” Look who is wearing the shoes. They don’t fit well but they sure look fabulous. What happened to my shoes?”

When my Mom got sick with pancreatic cancer, my sister Ann and I found brand new red high heels in her closet. We told Mom she had to get better so she could get up and dance in those shoes. She smiled, tried, but never got well. But those shoes allowed her to dream and hope. Sole Sisters is dedicated to my Mom and all women who have special relationships with their shoes.
