And of course a very special Shoe.“In 2012 I was diagnosed with late stage 2 invasive breast cancer. I went through a bilateral mastectomy, chemo, radiation and a hysterectomy. Four weeks after my hysterectomy I was on stage competing for Mrs Texas International and won! During my journey I was given a pair of high heels from my friend Katie Maskey. She spent hours putting each individual sequin on by hand. The moment I put those heels on I could feel her love and support. My soles sensed the power of the words survivor and hope on my new pair of shoes. I wore those shoes to almost every appearance and I promise you my smile was bigger when wearing them. At a time when I needed it, never has a pair of heels made me feel more confident and sexy.”
